Documentary films for businesses people remember

I create story-driven films for brands, shops, makers, and places with a real point of view—films that help people understand not just what you do, but why it matters.

WHY STORY MATTERS

A man and woman sitting at a counter in a dimly lit cafe or restaurant, enjoying coffee and conversation, with a cozy atmosphere.

People don't remember businesses because of what they sell. They remember how those places made them feel.

The record store where they found a new favorite album.

The coffee shop that became part of a Saturday ritual.

The outdoor shop that helped them prepare for something they'll never forget.

The businesses people carry with them aren't just businesses. They become part of someone's story.

That's what I'm interested in capturing: the people behind the place, the craft behind the work, and the reason it matters in the first place.

FOR BRANDS, SHOPS, MAKERS, HOSPITALITY, AND OUTDOOR BUSINESSES WITH A REAL POINT OF VIEW.

WHAT THIS DOES FOR YOUR BUSINESS

A documentary film becomes more than content-it becomes one of your most valuable assets.

It gives your business a story people can understand, remember, and share. It can live on your website, support a launch or campaign, introduce people to your values, and give customers a reason to care before they ever buy.

The goal isn't just to make something beautiful. It's to create a film that helps people feel the reason your business exists.

Featured Film

Presence is a short documentary about memory, place, and the things we carry with us. It’s also the clearest expression of how I think about storytelling: not just as information, but as atmosphere, identity, and emotional connection.

The same instinct shapes the films I make for brands and businesses—finding the human story underneath the product, the place, or the service, and telling it in a way people can actually feel.

What I Make For Businesses

Story-first films for businesses people want to remember.

Not every business needs another ad.
Sometimes what it really needs is a story people can feel.

I create documentary-driven films for businesses, makers, and brands that want to be remembered—not just seen.

If your business has a point of view, a history, or a reason people keep coming back, there’s a story worth telling.

Selected Work

The same instinct behind Presence is what shapes the rest of my work—finding the human story underneath the product, the place, or the craft, and telling it in a way people can actually feel. These are a few of the films I’ve made to do exactly that.

A cinematic journey through the people, places, and crafts that built America—told through the hands, the work, and the boots that keep it moving.

A documentary portrait of a cobbler, dedicated to his craft, history, and his life-long goal to keep it alive.

Built for businesses with a real story behind them.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This work is for businesses that care about more than visibility.

The founder with a reason for starting.

The shop with a point of view.

The brand rooted in craft, place, or community.

The business that wants people to feel something-not just scroll past another ad.

If what you've built has a heartbeat behind it, this is probably for you.

A man with a beard and wearing a black cap and jacket is writing in a journal at a wooden table in a dimly lit room, with a mug and other items on the table.
A hiker with a backpack standing in a mountain landscape during sunset or sunrise.
A barista prepares coffee behind the counter in a cozy coffee shop with warm lighting and shelves filled with cups and dishes.
Close-up of a craftsperson's hands sewing leather with a needle and thread, tools on a wooden workbench, and part of a brown leather item.

About Nick

A smiling man wearing a green cap, orange t-shirt, jeans, and brown boots kneeling next to a happy Australian Shepherd dog on a wooden dock beside a calm lake during autumn.

I’m Nick Wyatt, a filmmaker and cinematographer based in North Carolina, and the person behind Haphazard Vision.

I make documentary films for businesses, brands, and people with something real at the center of what they do. I’m drawn to stories rooted in craft, place, and personality—the kinds of businesses people remember because of how they felt when they were there. My goal is to make films that don’t just explain what a business does, but help people understand why it matters.

Whether I’m filming a founder, a family business, a workshop, or a place people keep coming back to, I’m always looking for the human story underneath it all.

If you’ve built something worth remembering, let’s tell that story well.

A man with short hair and a light beard looking off to the side, wearing a light shirt and a jacket, standing outdoors with graffiti art in the background.

I create documentary films for businesses, brands, and makers with a real point of view—films that help people connect not just with what you do, but why it matters. If that sounds like the kind of story you’ve been wanting to tell, I’d love to hear about it.

If you’re not looking for another generic promo video—and you’d rather make something with weight, texture, and a point of view—I’d love to hear what you’re building.
